The ichthyic market of Acitrezza is the most important thing for the economy of the place. Well-known for the good fish that we can find, it has always constituted an attraction thanks to its peculiar characteristics: in fact it is situated in front of the sea, exactly in the square "Marina". Every night the fishing boats docking to the port to unload the fish just fished. They can be found the most varied species of fish, from the tuna taken behind the Faraglioni, to the sword fish, from the fruits of the sea, to the white bream, from the Amber Jack to the pilchard. The market opens from 2:00 a.m. and it closes to 6:00 a.m.. A crowd of sellers buy the fish that it will be sold to the final customer. The tourists remain astonished for this show of fishes, lights and men in the middle of the night. It is like at the Stock Exchange of Milan with gestures, nicknames, names of the fishes which are difficult to understand for the foreigner. The market is always open, every night, except Saturday. It gives life to its ritual made of commerce, but also of history of the people who works for it.
